New Halloween multiplayer game announced

John Carpenter’s Halloween is getting a new life as a video game. Developer IllFonic is bringing the horror classic to consoles and PC in 2026 with a stealth-driven survival experience.

Players can take on two roles: step into the mask of Michael Myers as he stalks the streets of Haddonfield, or play as civilians racing to survive the night. Myers hunts victims and sabotages communications to keep help away, while civilians must warn neighbors and find a way to call the police before it’s too late.

The game offers solo story play, offline matches with bots, and online multiplayer, all built around tension, strategy, and psychological suspense. IllFonic is recreating Haddonfield with multiple maps, iconic locations, and a soundtrack inspired by Carpenter’s chilling score to capture the feel of the original film.

With its blend of stealth, survival, and slasher thrills, Halloween is set to deliver a fresh nightmare. In Haddonfield, no one is ever truly safe.

Halloween will release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) in 2026, giving both longtime fans and newcomers a new reason to fear the dark.
