How to play as a counselor in offline mode in Friday the 13th: The Game?

 

For years players have wished for it, and someone finally delivered.

Now there's a new mod where you can play in offline bots as a counselor against AI Jason in Friday the 13th: The Game. 

 

 

In this mod, when you play against bot Jason you aren't the only counselor, the other counselors are bots. Which is worse, who wins: bot Jason or bot counselors? Bot counselors are notorious for their stupidity.

Bot Jason plays like a newbie, he can't even use shift. He often gets stuck or keeps running against an obstacle or stops to calculate what is the best route to the counselor.

So it seems that playing against AI Jason is the easy mode. And that't exactly what I need!

Officially Friday the 13th: The Game stopped working at midnight EST on January 1, 2025. Since then it was only supposed to work offline, to be playable only as Jason against bots. But look what happened!

Friday the 13th the game: Can you still play?

Yes, you can.

We all thought it was the end. The end of Friday the 13th: The Game. But it wasn't. Thanks to the hardcore fans of this game. TPTB tried to pull the plug, but they couldn't. Like Jason Voorhees, Friday the 13th: The Game refused to die, and came back.

Many players are now actually buing a PS4/PS5 and a physical copy/disc of F13 to play it. In 2025! When the game was supposed to be dead.

 

Friday the 13th: The Game Fan Servers

Within two days of the game "dying" a private server was up on Playstation. Unfortunately the settings are different on Xbox, and it might be impossible to come up with a workaround for that console. 

 

How to play Friday the 13th: The Game on PS4/PS5 in 2025

If you are getting database login failure on Playstation, you can fix it by changing the DNS settings. Here's a guide how to access the private server on PS4/PS5, and keep playing F13 online.

How to play Friday the 13th: The Game on PC in 2025

Here's a guide how to get the update to allow online play on PC. There are also some other ways (mods) to play this game on PC.

One of these mods is Resurrected. Here is a guide how to download and play it. You do NOT need to own F13 on PC/Steam to play Resurrected, we have tested this.

Where to buy Friday the 13th: The Game in 2025

There are still new physical copies of the game available on Amazon, but the PS4-discs are selling fast now, so you might need to hurry. So even though the game was delisted from digital storefronts at the end of 2023, it can still be bought. Not even the price has gone up yet, like some people predicted.
